I was fortunate enough to spend the day in the vibrant city of San Francisco attending the San Francisco International Gift Fair. I previewed the new La Vie Parisienne by Catherine Popesco spring collection, and was excited to see many new earring styles introduced for the upcoming season, as well as brand new chain wrap bracelets. New Swarovski crystals colors will include lavender provence (a pretty as can be purple tone) and glacier blue (a beautiful blue crystal with an iridescent ab finish). While in the most walk friendly city by the Bay, I took in all the gorgeous sites of the bay bridge, old historic buildings, and new tech construction. I grew up in San Francisco in the 80-90's, and boy has this city changed! It's been sad to see so many of my old haunts and neighborhoods gone, to be replaced by young, hip shops and restaurants and ever taller high rises. Yet the energy and vibe of this dynamic city remains the same - you can feel the vibrancy everywhere you go, and that's quite exciting as San Francisco will always be a city that never sits on its laurels, but evolves and transforms constantly.
I had a most delicious tri tip steak flatbread salad in the food mecca known as westfield mall in the heart of downtown. Yes, mall food is taken to an entirely new level in this high end eatery featuring cuisines from around the world. One great thing about San Francisco is that you never have to go far to find good eats!
I was thankful to spend a wonderful day re-visting the city of my childhood through older, and hopefully wiser eyes. =)
