About the Designer
Dogeared designer and founder Marcia Maizel-Clarke founded Dogeared with the belief that beautiful jewels can be made with good karma, peaceful intentions and earth friendly practices. These values remain the cornerstone of the Dogeared philosophy.
Having initially studied pre-law, Marcia decided to follow the strong creative call towards design and became a jewelry designer because she simply wanted to do something she loved, remarking that “If you’re going to spend the greater part of your adult life working, it had better be doing something you love!”
She followed a dream, and it not only led her to happiness, but fueled a force of positive change that is still going strong.

Dogeared was born on the beautiful beaches of Southern California in 1991. Founder Marcia Maizel-Clarke believed jewelry could be both beautiful and meaningful, and her idea that jewels should speak sparked the creative journey now known as Dogeared.
Dogeared believes good things happen. The brand is more than a jewelry line and embraces the stories, happy moments, milestones and experiences… that celebrate, connect and inspire customers. Each piece tells a story of individuality, self-expression, love, and friendship. Dogeared jewels are simple, modern and versatile, inspired by California’s free spirited, natural beauty. Care Guide
Dogeared jewelry consists of sterling silver and base metal that are often gold plated or gold-filled. The metal may darken or tarnish with normal wear. We recommend a gentle wipe with a polishing cloth, however, excessive polishing will rub off the plating and is not recommended.
Always remove jewelry when sleeping, washing hands, showering, or swimming. Do not apply/spray any alcohol or oil based perfume, hairspray, body lotions, or hair grooming products near pieces.
